How it all began
How it all began
A YOUNG MAN’S DREAM
Our father Olle was an adventurous man, full of dreams and longing to leave the Swedish woodlands for far away shores.
He didn’t have much money so he decided to sail the seas on board of the cargo ship ‘Stella Marina’, dreaming of adventure and exotic places.
BUENOS AIRES
In Buenos Aires, loading bananas, Olle went ashore. There the dark eyes of our Spanish mother Maria met the blue-greys of our dad.
Two independent and adventurous souls met, fell in love and the rest is history.

North meets South
TORN APART
But daddy had to leave Buenos Aires for other ports so they didn’t see eachother much the following period. So instead, Olle, sitting alone in his cabin, taught himself Spanish and wrote beautiful love-letters to his dark-eyed Maria. And boy, could he write!
WEDDING BELLS
Softspoken but determined, on his final visit, he proposed. They married in a little chapel and embarqued on ‘Stella Marina’ for their honey-moon, leaving the heat and bustle of Buenos Aires for the cool stillness of Sweden; a country so utterly different to what Maria was used to. Far away, on the other side of the Atlantic.

A knitting problem
Back in Sweden, after some years in Stockholm, they finally settled in Blekinge, where the southmost eastern corner of Sweden meets the Baltic Sea.
FAMILY LIFE
Our mother, being a great knitter, often struggled to combine keeping her children at bay and creating winter clothes for the family. So daddy came up with a solution during his long weeks working as a coast guard in the Blekinge archipelago.
TWIZZTER 1.0
He hand-made a contraption for his wife and the first version of Twizzter was born (though it didn’t have a name back then).

Present days
Our parents story and Twizzter go back many decades. And it wasn’t until a couple of years ago that we – Patricia, Gunnar and Christina – came up with the idea to spread our father’s idea to others. We named it Twizzter and went ahead.
PATENT GRANTED
It took much more time and effort than expected to find a suitable producer. Even if a Twizzter looks simple, it is a component of quite a number of smaller parts, each of which has its own production method. Having modified it slightly to make it produceable on a larger scale, we decided to patent it and in 2022 the patent was granted.
DAD’S LEGACY
We really feel dad looking down upon us, smiling. He was a soft natured man that never would have gotten the idea to bring his thoughts to the world, preferring the solitude and comfort of the Swedish nature. But his offspring inherited a lot of their mother’s energy and character, so now we’re doing it for him. But we want his legacy and name to be remembered.
TWIZZTERSIZZTERS
The company Twizzter is now being run by his two daughters Patricia and Christina. We laughingly decided to call us ‘The TwizzterSizzters’. Gunnar, our brother and co-inventor, has his heart lost to the Blekinge archipelago and fishing. So he decided to focus on his own business: pikestrikesweden.se. But he is around any time we sisters need him. Family is family.
